AKOMA is a space for Black Women Artists & Makers in Detroit.
Our vision: to provide a space where Black Women Artists & Makers can come together, discuss issues that are important to us, create solutions and contribute to our community.
In partnership with Neighborhood Art School, we offer workshops on a “pay what you can” model, so that no one will be denied the opportunity to learn based on income level. We also invite those who can provide additional support by paying more, to do so.
EVERYONE is welcome to participate in our workshops regardless of race, gender-identity, religion or any other characteristic.
